Comparison of April AdSense numbers to March as follows:

EPC: down 20%
CPM: down 50%
CTR: down 33%

This is for broad-based site with enough traffic to make it statistically significant.

Now give us your traffic comparison for that time period, and any significant changes in ranking for money words.

Traffic doubled, so no revenue drop for me fortunately.

As for "money words" I'm unable to track those as the site is too broad to even begin to.

I 'wonder' when this shakes out where content publishers wil be 'allowed' to make money? I know it's tied to conversion but determining that is the problem for AdSense. I know I have a few real 'converters' that are recieving PSAs.

My effective CPM for April was down about 1/3 from March, and I was doing pretty well before that, so I'm still doing okay. AdSense doesn't bring in nearly as much as I earn from affiliate programs, but it ranks with my better affiliate partners as a source of revenue.

I do think that the new variable-pricing scheme will make AdSense less attractive to publishers whose topics and/or content formats don't convert well according to Google's statistics, or whose topics attract only minimum-bid ads. Unless, of course, they have huge amounts of traffic and can make money on volume as Google's premium partners do.

April compared to March:

Impressions: 7.8% decrease
Clicks: 19.3% decrease
CTR: 12.4% decrease
Earnings: 0.6% decrease
EPC: 26.9% increase
EPM: 7.8% increase

EPC and EPM were the highest they've been since October.

So far May looks even better.

Off Topic

My May 3rd earnings and CTR and CPC all are down by 60% for a Typical Monday. No changes to my content and impressions are actually up by 10%. What gives?
