Am I allowed to run Google AdSense in my Disucssion Forum (at the bottom of each page), or is that considered dynamic pages that are disallowed?

Yes, you are allowed although Google may have a hard time bringing in targeted ads on a dynamic generated forum.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this forum. I menat to place this in an ongoing disucssion of what is allowed and what is not allowed by AdSense.

Yes, I see public service ads mostly, but sometimes targeted ones come in on the main forum page. I was hoping it was just because I just put them in and it was "learning."

Just how does Goggle go about figuring out what would go on a dynamic page, and does it take a while for it to figure it out?

Sometimes it will never figure it out and keep displaying public ads that you don't get paid for.

My best advise for you would be find a way to build static pages for your forums like WebmasterWorld does with their forums.

Search Engines love it and AdSense loves it!

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, slobizman. Google spiders the page and determines the content to figure out what ads to run. They also seem to know what the site is about (general theme) and sometimes run ads based on that. Other times, they may run public service ads before they spider it. Hope biz isn't TOO slo... :)

Google already does well-targeted ads for my home page (jsut started yesterday with them). Will they figure out that the discussion forum that is associated with it in the site would be the same audience? Can I just tell them that and they hard-code it?

As new threads start, it may take anywhere from one minute to a couple days for AdSense to start displaying targeted ads.

If your discussion boards use session IDs, all you will show is public service ads, unless the same person happens to visit the same thread more than once during the same session, and only if the AdSense bot has managed to spider it within that time.

And depending on the type of dynamic URLs your forum displays, AdSense might only show PSAs, even without session IDs in use.

Just keep an eye on it, and make sure you are showing something other than PSAs after the bots visit each thread. And it is true, you don't get paid for those ads, no matter how many times they are clicked ;)
