Homepage Advertisement = Popup?

Hi,

I'm considering some advertising options for my website specifically full screen homepage "popups".

Whilst the homepage of my website is launched in a large window with this type of advertisement, I don't know whether I would classify this as a "popup."

But more importantly, does Google?
Would I have to remove Adsense from my homepage if I were to advertise in this manner?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind popups are not good and nobody likes them. Everybody uses popup blockers these days. Think twice before you use that!

This was brought up earlier this year [webmasterworld.com] however, I am not sure if the member's decision was based upon solely that thread or if he/she had input from Google. I would definitely check with the AdSense team before doing this, just to be on the safe side. It might be a matter of having to remove AdSense from the index page (the page that will be shown when your site is popped up) but leaving it on all other interior pages.

Only one thing is worse then a popup is a popup that resizes your browser...

Popups annoy, resizing popups ANGER.

The program policies clearly states that AdSense ads cannot appear in a popup or popunder. Thus if AdSense appears on the homepage of the site in question, then that would be a violation.

You could argue there's some "wiggle room" if AdSense is part of a complete web page that pops up, but it would be way too risky for me to try.
