Double Whammy with sharply lower EPC plus poor ad targeting!

Anyone else getting very mad and frustrated with Google not only reducing our income signficantly (estimated at 50% +/-) with sharply lower EPC payment, but also recent poor ad targeting too, in effect a double whammy!

I have seen several of our sites where Google once had good targeted ads but now have irrelevant non-targeted or poorly targeted ads. Why does Google do that anyway? It not only hurts adsense clients affter all the time and work getting it working well, but also harms adwords advertisers who would appear to often get non-targeted ads served.

For example, one of our 3G sites in the past had good ads targeted toward 3G and high speed wireless date, etc., suddenly without apparent reason (and no change to the website) Google altered the adsense to mortgage lead ads for mortgage brokers looking for mortgage customers, and other nonsensical ads like TV loan leads, which have no relationship to the domain name or web-site content.

Even worse than poorly targets ads are some sites which once had good targeted ads on display but not have charitable organization ads which mean zero income! Am at a total loss to explain why AdSense has done this with recent new ads having nothing to do with the web-site itself.

Due to the poor targeting of some of our good keyword keyterm sites our potential clicks are declining due to the poor way ads are targeted, and also the new AdSense EPC which seems to be approx' 50% lower, which started early April but NOT an April Fools joke!

Rodney, what makes you think they would respond? I have attempted to contact Google about half a dozen different major issues (AdSense or not) without any useful response.

They'll respond; you'll just get a boilerplate reply.

I don't think there's much question that they're aware of the mistargeting problem; they just won't be able to fix it overnight (especially with the Easter holidays upon us).

Actually I often contact Google about poor targeting. Sometimes it works very well, such as my 3G example today, within 2 hrs today the poor ads were gone replaced with excellent targeted ads.

Google is very good at replying. Sometimes they reply with a form letter but occasionally with a nice personal email which is much appreciated of course.

At times nothing much is done and the same odd ads or chartity ads stay for a long time. However, at other times they seem to act quickly with excellent changes.

Overall I am well satisfied but the ongoing problems with poor targeting, and now seemingly lower EPC are somwhat upsetting though Google AdSense is excellent overall.
