Tracking offline responses

A topic that has come up in our discussions about the April 1st changes is the ability to track conversions for other than click/buy scenarios.

If you haven't seen it yet, Findwhat is using a system to tracks clicks and/or phone calls. The advertisers pay based on either action.

While it's not a total solution by a long shot it might be something that Google implements into Adsense at some point.

We have been using something like this for a client where a unique phone number is displayed on the webpage on the basis of the HTTP referer. It works great and helps us ascertain what converts best. :-)
