On the surface the new AdSense content matching is well done

Enticing ads now showing on informational sites

I am quite impressed with the relevancy but more by the unique flavor of the ads now showing on informational sites. These are ads really targeted to the demographic and not simply the content. Huge.

I am seeing basically the same ads on the sites running AdSense that I visit on a daily basis.

I have not seen any change on my sites.

My ads don't appear to have changed, either.

My ads are pretty much the same too. A few new ones on some pages, but nothing really dramatic. And the new ads that are showing I actually like, too. A little more variety over the old ads shown.

So far no complaints on my end. CTR and revenue today matched precisely my previous months average - so if one day is any indication (and it probably isn't), doesn't look like my site will be greatly effected by the change.

I am seeing a great increase in CTR.

My CTR had remained fairly static for the last 3 months.

During March the CTR gradually rose reaching a figure that is 50% higher than the previous average.

This is based on traffic that is around a million page views per month, over a range of sites - so it is a statiscally relevant sample group.

Well done Google - lets just hope that my traffic is classed as 'relevant' enough to keep getting the same payout.

I liked the old one better, my site has very random themes, so having the same general topic over and over does not help my income at all.

Yesterday I was surprised to notice a huge decrease in revenues per click (over 50%) but certainly we cannot make general assumptions on this very short basis. The ads on our informational site have changed a little indeed and appear to be more differentiated than previously.

Let's wait and see what happens next...
