big blank ad spots

Periodically today, I noticed some of my sites showing big blank spots instead of ads.

It seemed intermittent, but it's been down (looking across a number of advertisers sites, not just my own) for about five minutes now... waiting for it to come back up..

Anybody else noticing this?

hmmm. I can see it from one ISP, not the other.

Guess it's my own problem folks. Sorry if I scared anyone.

On a related note, I wonder what my problem is.

Did you choose the alternate ad color, which will display a color of your choice instead of an alternate ad or PSA?

Alternate Ad Color

A new feature has been added to the alternate ad selection in your ad layout code: the solid color picker. Simply select a color code from the color picker on your Ad layout code page, and AdSense will fill your ad unit with the selected color instead of PSAs when targeted ads cannot be served.

If you matched it to your page color, it would appear as a blank space.

Hmmm, could be a firewall or ad blocking issue then.

Fiver: I had this yesterday for an hour. Not alternate ads/psa's just nothing. I have no ad blocking software, and no scumware... I still don't have an explanation... I guess it just happens sometimes.

Jenstar:

Nope, seeing this on every adsense site on the web, from this one ISP. No new firewalls on this end, hard or software, unless the ISP themselves did something, I'll remain confused.

That's the issue. Why would I be able to see them from one ISP (ip, who knows the divider) and not another? Very odd.

They are back.

That lasted just under a documented 25 minutes.

This must be some trend - I have noticed lack of targeted ads in adsense on various sites on URLs added in last 2 days. I check from 3 various ISPs, including AOL! Something is going on at Google... but what?

I see ads, but can't log into the Adsense website.
