Can sites be "cleaned up" and resubmitted to Adsense?

I did a search and couldn't find an answer to this one.

Got the rejection letter telling me that my site has "inappropriate language" and "adult content" and I'm wondering if it's possible to resubmit the same site again?

[Aside: How do so many other websites that are blatantly adult-oriented get approved for Adsense? Maybe I should report them.]

Likely been approved with another account, and the quality checkers haven't checked out that particular URL yet to check for compliance.
