I have this problem as well. I found this advise in another thread:

change the url to www2.google.com/adsense and it seems to connect to a different/faster server.

For some reason I can get to the www.google.com/adsense server with Internet Explorer today, but not with Opera. Fortunately, your www2 trick solves the Opera problem. Thanks!

yeah same problem here. but www2 worked for me as well. using IE.

They altered some of the files.

My bookmark to
[google.com...]
stopped working properly on Friday when they changed to channels. It had been there since last July and never caused any grief

Resetting the bookmark to
[google.com...]
solved the problem

I am in the US and recent days adsense website is frequently unaccessible, but after a couple of minutes, it's back again. have you experienced the same?

I'm in Italy and never had a problem getting adsense or anything google.

I use it probably 10 times a day or more.
