Just noticed today after putting adsense on a brand new site. The first ever ad was the same as I see on some of my other properties (which immediately made me suspicious as that new site has nothing to do with the new site's topic, the only link between the two being me).

The effect is consistent, any unknown to google page where I would have seen a PSA shows these ads.

Only when I cleared .google.com cookie I can finally see PSA's on that site.

Interesting, isn't it?

Upon furher checking it does not look like cookie on .google.com has anything to do with it

But the effect is there very clearly. If I click on "ads by google" I see these targeted to another web site ads, but the url shown is new -- so it's not caching of any sort. Any ideas?

I can only come up with somewhat cheesy idea of user agent string + ip address matching at the moment.

Chances are it is themed ads from another one of your sites on the same account. It should correct itself once mediabot swings by and spiders the content on the pages.

Nope, it's different account. I thought about it, but no, does not explain it.
