I have recently put Google Ads on my site and no one with XP Pro can click on them nor see the Links!? I noticed with me (I have XP Pro) that none of google ads work on my computer, even on Googles own search engine. The links just dont show up. The url's in the ads point to "go to www.websitehere.com

Anyone know whats up with this?

thanks for the space WebmasterWorld.

Do you also have Norton Internet Security installed? This will disable the links.

If ALL links are showing the same URL, regardless of the type of ad it is, you are likely infected with spyware/adware. Run AdAware as well as Spybot: Search and Destroy. Between the two of them, they will be able to remove nearly all spyware/adware out there.

ok, i do have norton internet security, but my ad when rolled over the invisble link shows a goto www.site.com, but are all different and coorispond to the ad with the correct link. I just disabled norton and still cant see them.

Is there a way around this and what maybe causing this?

thanks for the replys thus far....

I can see the ads fine with XP Pro, too.

The real issue, IMHO, is whether AdSense ads are a good idea on a site that's offering professional services. Try to look at the ads from the perspective of a client that's shopping for a design firm. Do such ads convey an image of professionalism and success? Or do they suggest that the business needs to supplement its apparently modest revenues with advertising? To put it another way, how many successful, established design firms run third-party advertising?

And not just advertising, but advertisements that may promote competitors. Just my opinion, but I agree with EFV - when I see such ads on certain types of sites my perception of the company/site goes way down. It doesn't bother me if it's an informational site, but on one providing professional services...
