Filled in the old w8 form a while back, but google say that some info is needed. I've filled these forms in many times in the past and it relates to the following, which I've never entered before:
- Article of treaty identified (Part 2, line 10)
- % rate of withholding (Part 2, line 10a)
- Type of income (Part 2, Line 10b). For most AdSense Online
publishers, this will be "services"
- Reason why you meet the terms of the treaty article
(Part 2, line 10c)
Any UK folk who have filled this section in, can you please give a pointer as to what to enter? Really it's the % and the 'reasons' I ain't got a scooby-doo about...
I am in the UK and I used the wizard on the left hand side of the page

After answering 'no' to the question about being a US citizen and then no to having interests in the US it said I did not need to do a W8. I just needed to electronically sign the form and that was that...
If you do not have any offices or employees in the US I do not see why you need to fill in the W8.
I am well known for getting it wrong though!
