Adsense and slow loading pages

Does adsense have a problem with pages that load slowly

I added some adsense ads to pages with some displayed RSS feeds. The RSS content load slowly occasionally (average of 3 seconds on a cable connection). On these pages I am getting just sitewide theme ads instead of ads that better match the content, if the page load time is slow. If the page load time is fast the adsense content is closer to what I would expect. There is other content on these pages which matches the theme of the page. The pages have been around for 3 weeks. Has anyone else have problems with pages that load slowly?

I use adsense in moderate load forums, review systems and such and no problems with lag. Ofcourse i use this in the header functioin so often they get rendered before the slower stuff so that can help page draw time.

I doubt it would matter because AdSense does not spider the page at that moment and is not aware of the load time.

It's conceivable that Mediabot is timing out when it tries to spider the page, although I wouldn't have thought a 3 second load time would cause that to happen.

I was guessing that the script was communicating with the google server and this was somehow timing out.

It seems to be pretty consistant, when the page has a hard time loading the ads are off. Could something else be involved?

The user's browser sends the request to Google. At the time of page loading your server doesn't communicate with Google. Offhand I don't see what aspect of the page rendering could cause Google to decide to return targeted but less-targeted ads.

Like I said, it COULD be spidering problem. Why not check your logs to ensure that Mediabot has spidered the pages involved and that the resulting status code was 200 (successful)?
