Installing AdSense for my Clients

Can I open up AdSense account for my Ad Agency Clients?

I rep several publishing websites that want Ad Sense on their sites. At first I opened up one account, and placed that code on all the websites, but quickly found out that didn't follow Google's rules. I'm now trying to figure out how to correctly apply for AdSense individually, and want to do it in a way where I'm not going to get de-activated again.

Their customer service department is truly horrible, and have yet to respond to me, so I thought I'd throw out the question here.

Would I set up separate accounts? If I did this, though, Google would see that I've set up multiple accounts and de-activate me based on their T&C "Multiple accounts held by the same individual or entity are subject to immediate termination."

any ideas?

A bigger issue than multiple accounts is that the ToS says you can only place "your" Adsense code on sites which you legally own/control.

Get your clients to each open their own Adsense accounts, then either they or you can place Adsense panels however makes the best sense for their site. That way following the rules of Adsense is their responsibility, and any problems that result from breaches are theirs, not yours.

But I'm acting on their behalf, so I should be ok..right?

'"You" or "Publisher" means any entity identified in an enrollment form submitted by the same or affiliated persons, and/or any agency or network acting on its (or their) behalf, which shall also be bound by the terms of this Agreement.'

I'd interpret that clause to mean that each site owner (publisher) needs to have its own account, but you can act on behalf of those publishers--as long as you don't violate the TOS, in which case the publishers will be held responsible since you're their authorized representative.

Given that you appear to represent various owners, and not just websites, surely you'd need seperate accounts for each one anyhow? So either you present the case for multiple accounts to G and wait for their answer, or you do as buckworks suggests and get each client to apply seperately. There are some here who have multiple accounts and seem to be getting away with it (or are allowed to do it).

As Google has already de-activated you from the program once before, have they given indication that you'll be invited back into the fold once you've complied with certain criteria?

There is wrote absolutly clear :
"However, publishers may create multiple accounts if they manage sites that require separate payments."

That's interesting (and new since the program launched), although it doesn't apply in this case because the original poster is talking about sites that he handles for clients (who, because they own the sites, are the actual publishers).

I'd guess that the clause is intended for companies with separate business units, such as freds-furry-cats.com, freds-furry-dogs.com, and freds-furry-bunniecs.com under the Fred's Furry Pet Corporation umbrella.

to me it just seems like there's a lot a gray area here. These T&C's can be read both ways.

here's another idea that's crossed my mind..has anyone ever tried buying advertising space on someones else's site, then getting their site approved for Ad Sense, then placing your code there and seeing if you break even..? You'd be representing their site, and you're *NOT* re-selling it, as you'd *own* the real estate on the publishers site..

thoughts?

the purpledestiny, what was the specific reason you were suspended for? You can place AdSense on other sites you don't own IF you have permission from the legal owner (I am not sure what kind of documentation AdSense would require to prove this though).

Usually, once you have been suspended, that is it.

their main comment was in reference to the line:

"You may not resell, assign, or transfer any of Your rights hereunder"

in their T&C's - which made no sense to me at all.

I'm think I'm going to attempt registering each separately, and cross my fingers..

How were you intending to distribute the income from the single account to the owners of the various sites that you placed the code on?

interesting you mention this. When I signed up, I thought Google would allow you to separate tracking URL's by site. But once I signed up, I realized we couldn't. I was working on that problem when they shut me off.
