multiple adsense accounts

I know it's easier to have one account for all of your sites but is it frowned upon by google if you say have an account for each website?

my reasoning is the usual paranoia of a competitor or someone losing me my adsense account, if i had more than one account then not everything would be lost, if you see what i mean?

cheers

This is addressed in the AdSense Terms and FAQs.

... as "Multiple accounts held by the same individual or entity are subject to immediate termination. "

This is addressed in the AdSense Terms and FAQs.

And contradicted from time-to-time by Adsense support.

A few have been given permission

If you have multiple accounts, you can lose all of them if you are suspended. This really isn't a loophole incase one account gets suspended.

<added>Yes, people do get permission for multiple accounts if they give their reasonings. However "I want to have more than one account just incase one of them gets suspended" is not considered a valid reason ;) </added>

cheers, i'd missed that line at the end of the first paragraph.

Well i hope google adsense soon comes up with the ability to empower us to defend our adsense accounts, primarily by providing us with info about the people clicking the ads on our sites, if i saw someone click multiple times on an ad(s) his ip would be banned straight away.

The only explanation I gave Google was that I have more than one site so can I need more than one account please. And they were fine with it. I did mention in passing that I would find the separate stats useful as well.

It is important to remember. If you have a static IP address and you are logging into multiple accounts they will know that the 2 accounts are linked...

Even paranoid people get followed you know.

hmm, conflicting information, arggggg lol.

What happens in this scenario then, each of my family members has a website which i've designed, they each also have adsense accounts by which they acces through the home connection with a static ip? I imagine the surnames all being the same would lead them to assume we're family.

My wife attempted twice to set up an adsense account for herself, and both times rejected because I already have one for myself.

She manages seperate web sites than I do, yet Google won't let us set up more than one account because we "already have one".

I appreciate the opportunity Google has extended all of us, but they are being pretty rigid.

rehabguy: how did google find out that you are related to your wife?

She submitted a different URL as the site for AdSense postings, but used the same email address domain name when submitting. (Ex: hername@rehabguydomain.com)

She used a different email address and got accepted the second time, last night (since my post).

We're not sure how to approach this - we don't want to get kicked out of the program, but plan to honestly try to "compete" for results on completely legitimate, seperate web sites.

Maybe if we were a "same-sex" couple then Google would be afraid to refuse us? <Just kidding.>

I don't know if she should use her account or not. We're still talking about it.

It is worth reading the contents your google cookies in notepad, there is info in there relating to Adsense. I'm guessing they use this info to track multiple things, i.e. duplicate accounts from the same PC, clicking on other members ads. etcetera.

[added]You can get around this by making sure that you each login to the local PC with a different username/password combo[/added]

Hello,

When I ask this kind of issue to adsense team, they advise me the following:

<paraphrase>We are working on a to allow tracking of multiple websites on one account, and prefer you wait for this feature. If you want to track separately, you can submit individual applications for approval.</paraphrase>

I got the same dual account email.

I have two accounts, for two totaly things, one is a firms site, and one is my own. I am certainly not going to have these two combined (especially since you cannot even see what DOMAIN the earnings are coming from let alone what page........). I seemed to have cleared it up enough with Google for them to allow it until individual domain tracking is available, which is hope is soon.

I really love the adsense program and feel like i am doing a great service for publishing ads and i am being rewarded by advertisers and google for publishing these ads. I would certianly never want to do anything that violates the terms, and I am glad Google understands the needs of people to have more than one acount right now. I will, along with most others, look foreward to the day where multiple domain tracking is available for adsense.

Keep up the good work Adsense and legit adsense publishers!

I really can't believe that multiple domain tracking isn't available yet. It can't be that hard to do. AdSense is great, but the reporting features are too limited.

I'd also like to change my email address, but that's not possible at this time either. Makes me wonder what they are doing with all the CS majors around the Googleplex.
