Whoops, it's been mentioned in this thread at the same time:
[webmasterworld.com...]
It's a tremendous relief to get official word! It would have been a serious problem had the postal service lost batches of mail, which is what I was worried about.

I got my Google payment exactly one month after the payment from my other pay per click ad provider! Year end checks and 1099s were no problem for them.
...ahhhh.... yeah. Mine just came in postmarked the 9th. Sounds like whoever penned that email was either not 'sincere', or not 'informed', or both... but I assure you, as I hold the envelope in my hand, not all payments were sent out as they claim.
as far as the contract and 'mail' goes, I wrote this in the other thread that was locked and hidden from non-WebmasterWorld-members...
".... when it comes to contracts and money, I am nothing other than 'literal'. It says, again, "Note: We will mail you a check for your account balance within 30 days"... so, literally, Google has accepted the responsibility to send me my payment within 30 days of the end of every calendar month by either delivering the check to 1.) US Postal worker, 2.) a US Mail Recepticle (mailbox), or 3.) a US Mail Post Office..... there is no other way to read this. It does not say Google will mail my check to anybody other than me. It doesn't say Google will send (to me or a third party) payment by any other means besides US Mail. If Google wants to subcontract another company to cut and mail checks to me, fine, but Google, by terms of its own TOS, must deliver my check to the US Mail within 30 days of the close of the pay period or they are in breach of contract. Period."
...and at the risk of double posting, I think that pretty much sums up my feelings about this as well as my advice to Powdork (as well as to anyone else, including Google) as to how to read the agreement.
ok... I am done posting about late checks... as to all of you that still don't get why this issue is a big deal, basically it comes down to honor, a person's or entity's 'word', as well as basic business and the nature of agreements. After all the care I have taken to make all my sites compliant, etc. the only thing that Google had/has to do, to hold up its end of our agreement, is simply pay on time.... that is it. It is their only legal responsibility to me, and it is precisely the thing they can't seem to get a handle on.
... as they say, you are only as good as your word.
For those that are unhappy with the payments, why not just quit the program?
Cripes, not another one!
There are so many things wrong with the logic here that beggars belief.
Can we have an end to the 'if you don't like it, why don't you leave' nonsense.
Its wrong, doesn't add anything to the discussion and has been already kicked to death.
This forum is for discussing Adsense, good and bad.
If you don't like it when we discuss problems with Adsense..........
but the "Got your check yet?" threads waste almost as much bandwidth as the Google update threads on the Google News forum--even when people don't have anything to complain about. :-)
Disagree with you there! I think its more valuable than the "why don't you leave or quit replies/posts"
If its so so so so so not interesting, then why even bother to read it in the first place? never mind posting & replying.
The i got my cheque thread offers a lot more value than you think, and it reassures many a publisher waiting for this valuable piece of paper, especially in recent months where getting your cheque on time seems to be hit or miss right now and they are really struggling to get to grips with this Send Data to the Printers - Print Cheque - Put in post. This is one algo that needs updating urgently!
I know that if i see someone in Germany or Holland or Belgium posting that they have their cheques today, then you sort of know yours is coming very soon.
The fact is, it's no different than a landlord renting a house to someone who pays their rent a bit late and complains incessantly about it.
He has the option to evict them, or live with it. If he chooses to live with it he should stop whining. It's HIS decision.
You have the same decision to make. Remove the AdSense from your site or live with it. I'm not a Google cheerleader, just a realist who takes responsibility for my decisions.
Things don't always go 100% as planned in the real world. I know that. I also know Google isn't going to cheat me or steal the money they agreed to pay.
Stop whining about the check being a few days late and move on to something productive. If you can't do that, find another advertiser who pays more quickly.
He has the option to evict them, or live with it. If he chooses to live with it he should stop whining. It's HIS decision.
If in your example the Landlord getting the rent paid on time as per the contract, and up until recently they had been model tenants and paid on time as per the contract, but for the last 2 months they had paid late, which causes him cash flow problems to pay his bills and so and so on, and he then decides the best course of action was to remind them and ask for it to be paid on time next month please.
Is this whining or someone who is doing good business?
Because if he ignores the problem and lives with it as you suggest, you can guarantee it will get worse and they will not only start getting later with payments, they are in fact more likely to skip payments and take advantage of the fact that there’s no pressure from the landlord to pay.
Without pressure nothing gets changed in favour of the worker or those at the bottom of ladder relying on the big guys to play & treat you fairly, unless they are prepared to make it know they want to see change, as they are not happy with certain issues.
This board is to discuss good & bad of AdSense, and all posts should be respected accordingly.
Whether you want to have a controlled rant, or post I love Adsense, both should be welcomed here and discussed accordingly.
