Google says there is no reason for me to click on ads

They should have a place where you can put in an IP that does not get counted when a click is made from it. I have every right to know what I am advertising. Also I would like to get the URL of sites I don't want on there without spending a long time to figure out what it is. It only takes secondes to click on an ad to get the URL. The way they want you to do it takes a while and sometimes I can't even get it. I right click and go to properties and then paste that in notepad and I still don't see the URL in there the way they say to do it. I know that the URl is visable but often times the URL runs off the side of the ad where it can not be seen. Plus that URL is not always the one the ad goes to. That is a seperate setting in adwords than the actual URL.

Seriously CBS is in trouble for not paying attention to what they were showing. I am responsbile for what is on my site. I need to make sure the ads are ok. Google is saying trus us. What I reccomended will help the advertisers. As an advertiser as well I would appreciate it if people wold exclude my ads if they were irelavant. Google has the opertunity to let people fix the system for free and they refuse just like with the free results. SEO's for the most part make Google a better place. There are many results that actualy have something to do with the search for some of the stuff I put up. I'm talking real obvious not just my site is better than the others.

but it's a lot easier to click the "Ads by Google" that page will list the url of the ad's on your page, a quick copy and paste and a way you go.

I don't click on the ads anymore. When I did I reported it to Google and told them why and my IP. They were pretty cool with it. They did say never do it again and I have not.

The comment on these ads feature has been there since the summertime, and likely right from when AdSense initially launched.

First of all, you can plainly see what ads are showing on your site. I can't imagine having so few different ads showing that you could visit every advertiser for a manual check, but I guess it's possible.

Second, it's easy to identify the advertiser's site. In addition to the suggestion above, some of the ad formats display it right below the ad. Plus Google suggests some kind of right-click workaround to get the URL that I have never needed to use. Plus you can just run the mouse over the ad and the status bar will show the advertiser homepage.

Yeah, I've known it has been that way for awhile. I've used the "Ads by Google" link a couple times to comment on the ads.

I agree. It is also helpful for us old folks who can't always remember the simple little tricks and a reminder is needed.

You can right click on the link and copy the shortcut. Paste into an editor and look for "&adurl=". The text after that and up to the next "&" is the destination URL. Copy this into your browser and see for yourself what is being advertised.
