First time poster....I inputted the Adsense code into the header html edit box on my e-classified ad script, but when I save it and try to view it the code has been altered which causes it not to work.

the code is altered and becomes

<script type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>

Has anyone else ever ran into anything similar? The site to view it is <snip> and it should show at the top of the page.

Thanks!
Dwayne

Did you contact the classifieds support team? I am sure they must have run into this problem by now and they might be able to offer a solution for you.

The system might simply be dropping any code that is commented out. You could try removing the comment start/end tags and seeing if that works. Doing so might cause some rare compatibility problems, but overall it should be acceptable.

If that works for you, you should inform AdSense about what you want to do - in advance. You would be (slightly) changing the code they provide you with, and for one thing could get flagged if Google check pages algorithmically for the correct code.

Talking of altering the code I remember when I started in Adsense back in June. I was the one who requested special permission from Google to the javascript to add type="text/javascript" so that it the pages it was on would validate properly. Shortly after that they changed the code that people copy and paste. Sorry for being slightly off topic....
