AdSense 1099's & tax forms

Anyone know when they'll be sent?

So, I'm trying to do my taxes, and am just waiting on 1099's now.

Has anyone found when Google will be sending those out, or should I just email 'em?

(Didn't want to bother the AdSense folks if someone else already had. heheh)

I "think" law requires them to be sent (or postmarked) by January 31st. But if they follow the same route as the checks, I will expect it to be here by the 15th.

IRS requires that 1099s be received within the first five days of February.

A smart company would have mailed them already.

this sucks... i didn't receive my 1099 from them by the end of the month, so i filed my taxes. a day or so later i get an email saying that it's on its way. i only got $200 last year (was only a member from November), so i'm wondering if an amended return will have to be filed, and if i can fault google for not sending them out on time.

I already got my google adsense 1099 from last year.

I think it was postmarked Jan 30th.

I think other publishers have reported receiving theirs already in the december check thread [webmasterworld.com]

1099s are only issued for earnings over $600. If Google paid you less than that, they are not going to send a 1099.

We received ours weeks ago. I thought it was the Dec Cheque

It's times like these I'm glad that due to my situation as a foreign publisher I don't have late 1099s to deal with and can keep everything I earn from Google this tax year.

However I do have currency conversion and bank charges expenses to pay as well as the headache of book-keeping in domestic and foreign currencies.

Oh and yes at the end of the tax year I too have to file a tax return - but we don't have 1099s or an equivalent here in the UK. We just (generally) trust the self-employed to tell the truth on their tax return.

I got mine a week ago, even before my December check. As mentioned before, you do not need to wait for the 1099. If you have kept an accurate count of the revenue produced by your website then you can simply plug in that number in the return.

Yep this is what I do. Keep detailed records since our family of sites pulls in a decent income. We just did our taxes and we are paying a TON in taxes.

But I live and die by the statement of "IF you are paying a TON of taxes, you must be making a lot of money"

Peace out
