Relevant ads, wrong pages

Why are ads not making it to the correct pages?

I have a site that lists widgets by geographic location. My Texas widget page has lots of nice ads for Massachusetts widgets. My Massachusetts widgets page has PSA's. The Texas page has a good density of the word Texas with no mention of Massachusetts anywhere.
I have sites in four distinctly different areas and all seem to have this problem.
I tremble to think what could happen if the mediabot could get it right.

How long have you been running AdSense for? Ads tend to be more themed to the entire website in the beginning before showing more precisely targeted ads on individual pages.

I had a really big problem with this. I used AdSense all over my site for about three months. I was astounded at the very poor content matching, the many cases of right ad/wrong page, etc. I finally gave up.

It perplexes me, though; Google of all companies should know how to do this properly.

Do you have any navigation links for Texas widgets on the Massachusetts widgets page, and vice versa? I've noticed that AdSense will occasionally grab keywords from navigation links when it can't figure out what the page is about (or if it doesn't have targeted ads for that page).

Would you happen to be in MA?

Does your internet connection routes you through an MA hub?

I know that I am in So. Fla. , but due to using a company that routes me through Atlanta {sometimes} I appear as a Georgia user in some logs.

There are no cross links between states on this site. I went over a couple of pages with a fine tooth comb and there is no possible way to extract Massachusetts, Mass, MA etc from the page.

My bigger concern is that the Massachusetts ads are NOT being shown on any of the Massachusetts pages. I am getting psa's or adverts for a certain (irrelevant) magazine.

I am located in Georgia and do not seem to be picking up an unusual amount of GA ads. Thanks for the responses.
