hello,

for the past one month or so, i used to have a very healthy click trhu' rate and also the payout per click used to be good...

But all of a sudden since yesterday, i am seeing a very bad CTR and also the payouts for those clicks.... :(

Anyone experiencing the same? is this an indication of anything?

Thanks
Cheers

Can't confirm.
Are you very much specialized?

Are you very much specialized?

Yes all my portals are very content specific and they cater to only a particular industry.

ideavirus, there is one small site I know that is seeing exactly the same as you. But because small sites essential mean small samples it's difficult to draw any conclusions within so short a time. It is a very specialised site.

Across the board I noticed that I get served more PSAs today (maybe yesterday as well).

That might contribute to your issue. As your pages might have very specific content and might be pretty dense (limited) for that specific content you might be affected more than more general and broader pages (like mine) where AS has more choice of picking and serving ads.

Just a guess.

I'd just wait another day or two and draw an average then.

adfree - that cud be a possible reason. however, i generally abstain from loading my own pages much, b'cos that might affect the click thru' percentages.

But then again, what i really feel is that my catgeory has lots of advertisers and i am pretty sure G can fill up those slots without ever wanting to inject those PSA's.

And as you put, it would be wise to wait for another day or two, before we cud jump into conslusions!

Since Jan. 22, I have noticed both a drop in EPC, and an increase in alternate ad displays.

ideavirus - I always try to "catch" some of this with my own alternate ads that look the same as the AS ads but point to very dense areas where I know Google has something under any circumstance, cuz there - again - I show AS ads.

That way I at least balance a bit when G lacks creativity.

I am also experiencing a big decline as of yesterday. My impressions and click-thru rates are fairly normal, but the earnings are down.

I'm just hoping it's a temporary thing. Sundays are generally slow, but today will be a better test since mondays tend to be good.

Interestingly, my site is also industry specific. Maybe we're in the same niche :-)

We've noticed the opposite - AdSense earnings up since this new "update".

We don't seem to budge in the SERPS during dances (firmly hold between #1 and #3, but never fluctuates more than that). If only I knew exactly what it is we're doing right, I'd make a fortune as an SEO!

Same is true of this latest one (in fact, back up to #1 from #2 for main search terms).

Referrerals from google have leaped though, and corresponding clicks from AdSense has been great.

There are some EMPTY ads around these days as well, that issue might contribute as well...
