I own a shopping directory/portal.

Does google allow the placement of Ad Sense on such sites. My pages consist of categorised links to online retailers.

Cheers

Is this the first site you are requesting adsense to be shown or have you already got adsense on other sites?

If this is your first site all you can do is complete the form to register and wait for the OK from google

If it is not your first site then as long as you don't break any of the adsense terms and conditions it is OK to put the code on mult.iple sites

hope this helps

This is my first Ad Sense request. I have a few other web pages that I could apply for first though.

Would it be safer to do this to get acceptance then paste code into the directory site?

Can anyone clarify on this (taken from their policies):

We do not permit AdWords ads to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads. This would include all content-targeted ads as well as text-based ads. Text-based ads, for this situation, can be loosely defined as ads that mimic AdWords ads or appear to be associated with AdWords ads on your site. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links.

Does a shopping site directory with text links classify as competing ads?

Ive been trawling through the past post and have read that Ad Sense accepts pages which are affiliate links?!?

Can anyone confirm this?

They accept affiliate links but maybe not standard text links = bizarre

Complete the adsense registration and they will confirm if it is OK to put the code on your site, its better to play safe and get the answer direct from google than from anywhere else.

Each site is taken on an individual basis and is checked for the content, once you have got the OK you just put the code on your other sites and google can see where you are using the code anyway

What you do not want to get is the dreaded email saying you have been booted out of adsense because you submitted another site to be checked and then put the code on a site which you are not sure about.
