Image Within A Wide Skyscraper

Not an image ad - an image above four text ads

For the first time today I saw a Google AdSense wide skyscraper which had an image presented above four text ads. The image was pretty eye-grabbing, and was relevant to but not associated with the ads below. Is this a new experiment by Google I hadn't yet heard about?

Yes, I've had an image above 4 ads on my wide skyscraper also. I saw this only once so far, it looked great and was very relevant to my site and ads.

I wonder where to link goes to when someone clicks on the image? Do we get credit when visitors click on this image?

The image leads to an adlinks page. It's safe to click on the image, just don't click the ads on the adlinks page.
