I've also experienced the opposite. So in short, there's no correlation IMO.
Are these eCPMs from the same website in the same industry?
The reason I ask about correlations is because I had a website that had a high eCPM and a high visible PageRank.
For branding reasons I had to move to a brand new domain name.
Search Engine traffic plummeted as expected, but eventually rose back to normal after about six months. eCPM also went down. One of the main differences between the two sites now is that the newer site still does not have a visible PageRank.
It will be interesting to see how my eCPMs compare when the visible ranks are updated.
