I have had my site for a while, I have about 60 pages and its mainly media based. When I put google adsense on them it brings up some of the biggest loads of rubbish ads bearing no relevance to my page content.

How can I make it so that the page contents actually reflects in the Adsense ads.

I get about 1000 - 5000 impressions a day and a 2000+ member forum.

Take the google ad section and wrap it around the content that you are wanting ads displayed for. This will help the bots determine what is relevant on the page.

The only problem with some forums (not all forums) is that there is no consistency on the subject matter in the posts, so Google is unable to determine the exact relevant keyword/s for the page hence the untargetted ads.

Hmmm

So if i get you correctly I must put the advert as close to the target text as possible, but what if I have assigned a skyscraper per page, does that principle still apply?

What I am saying is that these pages are not written with any keyword focus at all. There is no cohesiveness. I have come across quite a few forums that has totally irrelevant ads on many pages. This is one of the reasons why CTR is often awful. This why many go with CPM ads on forums.
