I have my own adsense account currently earning me a few hundred dollars a month from my own websites. I'm currently working for an IT company and have been asked to update/redesign their website. One thing they want is a customer homepage as part of their site which they will set as the homepage for every machine they build. They also build and maintain servers for small businesses. On this page they want to put a google search box. Obviously I will keep my own account completely seperate.

Should I set up an adsense account under the company name? If they do sign up, are there potential problems of perceived click fraud if we maintain their servers/ encourage them to use the customer homepage? Alternatively, can I use a search box on the site to search google without signing up to adsense?

The main aim of the exercise is to provide a page for customers that is for their benefit, but keeps the company name in front of them. Adsense earnings here are secondary. There will be no other Google ads on the site.

Any answers to any of the above or any other potential pitfalls that I haven't thought of yet?

I'd have a good read of the Adsense TOS and then I'd run everything by Google. It might not be worth the hassle. I I'd also suggest you don't use your account.

Thanks zcat - I'll go for that (hassle free!) option.
