I might be a little dumb for asking this but, what are the guidelines to operate multiple sites with adsense do i or can i register each site seperatly? Or do i just use the same code on all my sites, and if so do i need to let google know im going to be runnin ads on a new site?

You use the same code.

I don't think Google requires you to tell them about new sites, but I do because it gives me some comfort that they know what I'm up to.

The code contains an identifier for YOU not your site, they can get that info later. The account is for YOU not your site, so you can use the ads on multiple sites.

It's all documented on their site, although unfortunately the crucial information about the program is broken up between the Program Policies and the FAQ and the Terms + Conditions.

The answer is that you can run AdSense ads on any site you wish, without notifying Google in advance, as long as the site meets the criteria which are laid out in the abovementioned documents. In fact they prefer that you use one login instead of creating multiple accounts.

from the FAQ
6. Can I sign up for more than one account?
This is strongly discouraged. Because website publishers can place the AdSense HTML ad code on any page they own or legally manage, there is no need for publishers to create multiple accounts. Therefore, we generally limit Google AdSense accounts to one per publisher. However, publishers may create multiple accounts if they manage sites that require separate payments

If they really wanted to discourage new accounts for different sites they could have some useful stats that broke down the impressions and clicks by site or uri.
