Opening AdSense ads in new window

Does it count? Do we get paid?

Try to find information on this topic, but can not find one.

Wonder if someone can give me an answer.

Thanks in advanced.

From: [google.com...]

  • Clicks on Google ads must not result in a new browser window being launched.
  • So the answer is no. :)

    Thanks Encyclo for the info.

But, I think it doesn't make sense either the page display in current window or the new window.

My next curious is: Do Google charged their customer which ads was opened in new window?

You are being paid for sending traffic from your site to the advertised site, not just to open the advertized site in a new window leaving your site underneath.

If you want the ads to open in a new window, you would have to modify the AdSense code, which is not permitted either. Whether or not you agree with the policy is immaterial - it is a clear stated policy that you are required to accept to remain in the program.

Yes, of course all of us have to agree with the policy.

IMHO, it is just a little bit unfair, that's all. :(

If the USER chooses to open the ad in a new window, for example by shift-clicking, you'll get paid. That's normal and fine. The point is that you shouldn't attempt to force the links to open in a new window.

    Sorry Jomaxx,

    Encyclo already inform above:
Clicks on Google ads must not result in a new browser window being launched.

It is not mean that we want visitors to open the ads in new window, but... it happened.

Okay I didn't understand that sentence, but what I wrote does not contradict what encyclo wrote.

As an advertiser I do not see this as unfair in the slightest. The only time I like to see popups is if I'm at a online game site, like pogo, and see an Ad I like but don't want to leave my game.

Popups are a plague on the internet and along with spam should be banned--for that matter any webmaster willing to use that crap on thier sites should be locked up for bad TASTE.
