My traffic definitely goes down in the summer, but so far this year, and in other years, I haven't seen earnings go down in proportion.
My traffic too is down - to about a third of what it was in February. Many of the Google searches that typically return my sites on the first page now are nowhere to be found. I've gone through a few Google updates/upheavals in past years where my sites got lost for a few months, then returned back to the top. If you get most of your traffic from Google like I do, perhaps your pages simply aren't being returned anymore for searches that used to work.

Although I didnt get that much from them anyway.
Im now down to aquarter of the traffic I normally get.
Ive a link from DMOZ and a Australian Govt site, so quality isnt a problem, I guess people are just not looking.
G really hit saturation with this idea.. I wonder what the Next Big Thing will be after AS?
Everyone isn't having that experience. So far as I am concerned, AS is still a Pretty Big Thing. My earnings in AS are down no more than earnings in my main affiliate program, proportionally, meaning that AS continues to out-earn it by about 4 to 1.
Essex_boy - if your traffic is way down but your Google rankings are more or less unchanged, welcome to the summer doldrums.
Jomaxx, I hope you are right and this is just a summer doldrums problem. June is not nearly as good as May was and the last couple of days have been awful! My main keywords are still up at number 1, with many in the top 5 of the serps, so that is not the problem. Traffic is a little down the last few days, but the main problem I see if the eCPM is so low.
As long as it stays in its usual 65-70% range, then any increases or decreases in the absolute numbers are probably due to seasonal effects, in other words more or fewer people who happen to be online and researching my subject area.
However, it is interesting to point out that traffic has increased by 50% yesterday, and today so far. Most of it comes from Google, percentage-wise. Whether there is a SERP's or PR update in progress, it is too early to say, but something has triggered this.
So for me, World Cup doldrums or Summer backlash aren't an issue, as traffic generally has not decreased in recent weeks.
