Searching for adsense sites

What would I need to type into Google to find a list of sites in industry X all of which have Google adsense on them?

I would suggest you type in your keywords.

If you are an advertiser, and are looking to advertise specifically on sites that have google adsense, then the best thing is doing a search (on the 3 main search engines) and trying to find relevant sites with all your keywords.

It possibly would be a good idea for google to actually have a google adsense publisher search facility

Make a google adsense publisher search for your adwords customers and help them find current active sites that are relevant to their industry... (might I suggest the name for it be GAPS (Google Adsense Publisher Search :O)

It could be a feature which could return the google adsense publisher number with a link to the homepage of the site and it would be worked from meta data - keywords... the adwords person would be able to select as many or as little publishers to run Exclusive ad campaigns on.

It will enable Adwords advertisers to plug the GAPS in their marketing campaign and produce a better ROI (in theory)

Is there not an international trade directory for your industry listing relevant trade portals?

One of my core sites is such a directory and I list all I can find. Interestingly they've all adopted AdSense after I started using it:-)

I wasn't very clear in my first post. I meant can I find a list of sites who have adsense on them after typing in my keywords.

e.g. you type in: web hosting ads by gooooogle

And that would bring up web hosting sites with google ads on them. Anything like that?

Would this be a good thing for Google to reveal or not, I'm not sure?

I can't see the harm yet, then again, I suppose if one were chasing after high paying keywords then it would be possible to examine the top sites' optimisation ploys and techniques.

If you are an Adwords advertiser, you can do this easily by typing in keywords.

Adwords allows you to target specific sites that run Adsense, and you do this by typing in keywords.

For example: (keyword=bananas, would return websites running Adsense with bananas as their main keyword)

I guess I am a little more cynical than most as my first thought was that this would not be a good idea because it would give an adsense publisher the means to find competitive sites and launch a false click campaigne to get the competition banned. I suppose I have read too much about the possibility of being banned for having too many suspicious clicks on your site. I know that I have been very secretive about my sites because I do not want to run the risk of some well intentioned friend or family member screwing things up for me, and I also do not talk specifically to others about what sites I have when I am talking to other people hosting sites that are also publishing ads of any kind until I am certain they are in a completely different market than I would ever consider being in.

I can see where it would help advertisers target their ads to relevent sites, but I would fear the possibility of it being abused by the shadier sort that does exist out there. Until G comes up with some way of just withholding revenue from questionable clicks, I would not be in favor of such a risk generating feature.

Since the AdSense code is an iframe searching for "ads by goooooogle" with a keyword won't produce the results you're looking for.

However, Google does provide a way to find AdWords advertisers by keywords. Not sure if this will help you though.
