With FF you can download an ad-blocker plugin.

In IE7, do you have any way to disable javascript? That may have the effect of breaking other non-ad related things on sites though of course.

If you just want to block your own ads from displaying to you, it's easier to do server-side.

Both FF and Opera are easy enough to disable javascript.

It's slightly more complicated in MSIE go to:

tools> internet options> security> custom level> scripting> active scripting> click disable

Hope that helps.

If you are running Windows do a search on your system for the file name hosts with no file extension etc. Open it with a text editor. Go to the bottom of the file and paste the text below into it:

127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

If at a later date you want to show ads you simply place a # at the beginning of the line - like:
#127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

Are you sure working on your site offline affects smart pricing. It had never occured to me? I like having the ads there as I work offline. They help me see how the ads balance with the rest of the page.
