Ads Don't Match Content

Can anyone give me some tips on optimizing whatever so that the ads featured on my page are related to the content of my page?

How long ago did you implement AdSense on your site Tex?

I have it up on some pages where it matches. However, I was adding some content pages today and noticed after uploading that the ads were very different than the content.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the ads to become targeted, sometimes it takes a few days.
So in some cases, patience is the secret formula;-)

However, section targeting might help too.
Did you use it?
And are you sure there are advertisers at all for your topic?

My experience is max 3 days, if longer and no correction happens you have something going on the the page itself.

I've noticed that if you create descriptive filenames, it will give you much better results.

service.html won't give you target ads, but, service-for-blue-widgets.html will instantly give you better targeted ads.

I usually get targeted ads after refreshing the page a few times.

I wrote a short article about Ad relevancy and using keywords properly (Ironically it's the only page on my website that I can't get relevant ads :¦ )

You should try and use the Google Sandbox tool here, if the ads still aren't relevant than it's a problem with the page.

One of my sites went down a month ago for a day or two because of a billing issue, when the site went back up, most of the ads dealt with SSL encryption, hosting and software (I guess G spidered the "this site down" page). After a few days, everything went back to normal except for my links page (the site has nothing to do with computers or hosting). To this day, it only displays ads related to hosting and encryption. There are only about 12 outbound links, and the ads usually reflected the link titles.

Why does just that one page refuse to go back to normal? How can I jump start getting it to display correct content ads?

From my experience, there are some items need to be considered:

1. Page meta title
2. Page meta description
3. Page meta keyword
4. Your page content relevancy to your keywords
5. You website main topic

That is major points I consider when composing my pages.

Quick Fix

This worked for me:

bluewidgets.html

to

bluewidgets2.html

and everything returned to normal.

One add is on the other is still off topic.

Topic is similar to a service offered.

So any ideas on how to fix how unrelated ads appear without changing the filename of a page? I have to keep the page name the same, but ever since my site went down for a day I keep getting all these hosting ads, I can't get them off.
