Does Adsense Hurt Ranking in Yahoo?

Does haveing Adsense ads on a brand new page hurt the page's chances of ranking well in Yahoo and MSN? I have 4 relatively new sites. All have about a dozen pages of original content with niche topics. The two with Adsense aren't even in the top 100. The two without Adsense have many pages on the first and second pages. I realize this is not a scientific test, but I have done about the same amount and type of SEO on each. It just seems odd there is such a difference. I am thinking now I should just leave Adsense off of new sites until they are indexed and doing well. Thanks in advance for any input offered on this topic.

i have four sites with adsense, all do relativly well on google and MSN but nothing with Yahoo? None of these sites are over a year old. I even tried the RSS trick and the myyahoo thing, The spider is always coming to my site, but still no yahoo indexing. As a comparison, I have 1 site without adsense (my professional portfolio/business site) doing great with yahoo (#1 for many targeted keywords) You may be on to something, but I would guess its something else, the question is: what?

LOL. I asked a similar question about Yahoo! (and MSN) after I started with Adsense, convinced there was some big conspiracy theory that Y doesn't like sites with Adsense.

Older and wiser heads assured me there wasn't (I'm still pondering that one ;) ) and advised patience. The second piece of advise proved right. Sites that had disappeared from Yahoo! are now back.

My Adsnese pages have equal rankings with Yahoo, MSN and Google(Top Rankings). I do not think the ads affect your ranking. In my case it has not.

Better placings in Y and Ask than in G.

I have two sites for my topic, one was the forum and the other was the "main" site with a lot of static info. Both sites appeared one atop the other on the first page of Yahoo's search results... until I started running Google ads. Then one site fell off Yahoo's main page and the other dropped down several positions.

I switched the ads on the page that dropped off Yahoo to YPN ads... low and behold the site came back up to the top. It took a few weeks, but sure enough the ranking was back.

For awhile I was ecstatic about the YPN results on those pages. I was earning several times what I earned with Google on the same pages. Unfortunately the earnings for those pages has dropped back considerably being much more in line with Google's payout.

I do think Yahoo penalizes you for running Google ads... or maybe they penalize you for running Google Analytics...
