New sports news website - tips

In a couple of months I will be launching my own sports news website for the small town I live in.

It will contain numerous pages many with sports reports but also a good number containing just results and league tables.

Can anyone give me any tips... do's and don'ts on how to get the best from my Google adserve on the site.

What are the chances of it bringing in even a small amount of money?
