Everyday, I've been getting between 30 to 40 impressions a day, with zero clicks. And I don't know the source or the cause of these impressions. Will search engine robots cause impressions when they visit my page?

no, generally bots won't cause impressions because they don't activate the adsense javascript but 30 - 40 impressions? You won't be getting many clicks with pageviews that low. Work on your traffic before you start worrying about the adsense implementation. :)
