Well, i finally hit that 'magic' number - today for the first time i broke the $100/day barrier - actually, as of 9:50pm, i'm at $113!

I've been ranging between $40-$70/day for the last few weeks, with two $80+ days.. My trend in traffic has been doubling every 2 weeks or so. Beginning a few days ago my traffic took a another big jump when Google raised me in the SERPS for a few key terms - now i'm getting 2,500 - 3,000 uniques per day.

As i've posted before, my site is 'tech' related, and i'm getting a large percentage of my earnings from Firefox referrals. (in case anyone asks)

My only problem now is that each day when my traffic and earnings get higher and higher, i get more and more nervous that i'll set off some AdSense alarm at Google for getting too much traffic & earnings too fast ((from April to May earnings up over 10X)), or something, and i'll get "THE" email.. Ohh.. my stomach hurts!

How do you make yourself keep focused and high motivated in your earlier days?

reading all the "i just broke $100/day" posts kept me motivated!

congratulations on your success.. i had my record day so far on memorial day, earning a tad over $200 for the day. my earnings have been exploding since the last week of may so i cant say what im making "per day" as they havent settled yet. looks like its going to be $40-$60 per day.

ctr is under 1% though..! any tips on improving? my ads are typically a 768 banner blended into the top of the page and a square below the content of some pages.

i love threads like this. theyve helped me keep my head up through the $20-$30/month period. thanks again everyone. Tearabite.. keep up the good work!

I rushed out after reading the start of this thread and added Firefox referal to a number of our pages that don't do great with Adsense targetting (same collection we tried Adlinks on). Several thousand Firefox impressions since then, no takers:-)

Do your readers have any reason for wanting/needing Firefox? if not, you need to 'sell' it, and give them a reason NEED it - but if your site is about flowers, or something like that, that might be difficult.

The reasone i'm doing so well with the referrals is because my readers come to these pages looking to perform a certain task(s) - to do these things properly they really need FF.

If your site is about flowers or something like that, then you make sure you have a Picasa referral button. I've actually been having pretty good luck with Picasa referrals in my particular niche.

Well, we have a pretty eclectic site, but no flowers. You did motivate me to download Picaso just to check it out for myself.

Funny thing is I started experimenting with Google Search at the same time on other pages that didn't target well, since it shouldn't bring SmartPricing either. It's the first time we've tried search on our site, and so far, nobody is using it. I know from our stats that thousands of people are seeing the search box, just no takers, they seem to prefer clicking a link, hitting the back button, or just going somewhere else.

in regards to people using the search box,.. on my site i see people using it on a page with ANOTHER form which they are supposed to submit to.

in other words,.. they seem to ignore the input box they are SUPPOSED to enter info into(which is smack in the middle of the page) on that particular page, and enter said info into the adsense search. a few clicks a day but nowhere near as much as the normal ads.

After 3 1/2 months, I hit the $100 mark today!
This past week I have been adding a lot of content pages to my site, added a few inbound links and results are happening. Advice to those starting from scratch with new sites: don't get discouraged if you don't get traffic/serps right away. Read these forums - there is a lot of sound advice to be learned from. It's an uphill battle at first, but eventually it pays off.

This past week I have seen a nice increase in traffic and clicks. (not much compared to many here, but with more hard work, it will be.)

Thanks to everyone and their great advice!
