A few months ago I came across a site that had a themed search form that used Google's search engine (don't remember if it was Adsense though). Since then I have lost the url and name of that site so I can't find it.

Are we allowed to theme the Adsense for Search form so we can have our own buttons and curved corners etc?

I don't know exaclty what you mean by "theme", but if it involves changing the code that Google gives you, then you can't

I'm not so sure Google included the search form itself when they say that because the form doesn't interfere with the program the way fiddling with Adsense units would. All I want to do is add curved corners to the search box and change the button. The Google and This Site radio buttons will stay as will account code. This is exactly what I saw on that site I mentioned. Damn me for not bookmarking the site.

Anyone asked Google about this?

Technically, even changing the HTML is altering the code provided by Google so it may not be allowed. (I would love to add my own style to it, too! :) )

Ask Google and let us know what they say. Other than visiting your site there is no way for them to know that the search box HTML was modified.
