Many of us can bid and pay on AdWords in our local currency. In view of currency fluctuations, why can't AdSense?
I guess the answer is that AdSense is dealt with from one USA office, rather than regional locations.

because exchange rates change alot and to set it all to one standard would be easier maybe?

Yes, I agree on that point, but I was rather thinking that if they can take, for example, payment and bids for AdWordsin local currency, why not do the same for AdSense :-)

I guess this is a strategic issue. If Google are selling, they want to have the easiest way to communicate the price (i.e. "local currency"). If Google are buying (traffic or adspace) from publishers, Google just want to have reliable costs on their end. If they could get away with local currency for customers, I bet they would do just that.
