I used to thoroughly check all pages that all links where working and now I dont as I have placed adsense on some of the pages.
I guess the impessions that come from your IP may not count (I would hope they dont) so that the 198 impressions would be of any other visitors to your site.
Obviously I am not 100% sure on how everything works yet as I am just trying to get some reports on my site how things are going and I need to look at the actual ads showing ( with previewads by google) - to try and increase the relevancy of them to my site.
But 0 clicks for that many page impressions? Just wondering how unusual that is.

I know some of my friends looked at my site and made sure they never clicked any adverts - I dont want incur any penalties so have advised my friends not to click but instead let me know if they see any adverts that shouldn't be there so I could look at filtering them out etc.
So my CTR is low as expected since my site is new and poorly ranked on google at the minute, I also do not have any relevant inbound links as the communities dont really know about my site yet - though am planning to advertise once I customise the ads a bit and ensure they are more relevant.
I still get some random visitors - mainly from msn searches on keywords with 1000 or so searchs a month (obviously I am not getting all those people yet who search for that, but I gotta start somewhere) :P
You may want to check the pages to make sure that relevant ads are being served but don't sweat the lulls. Just work on growing your traffic, keeping the content flowing, and optimizing ad placement.
Like most ad formats, I think few will argue that clickthrough rates won't fall over time. I look back at the clickthrough rates and earnings per click back in 2003 and it was amazing considering I was just throwing up a leaderboard ad in less-than-optimal places.
I think a few things have happened to blur that inevitable slide. Google has been amazing in winning over a wider depth of advertisers. More optimization tips and the gradual addition of more ad opportunities (link units, allowing more than one ad block, etc.) have probably led some to believe that it is sustainable but there are just way too many AdSense sites out there these days and a growing group of jaded Web users.
And I do hear you about the jaded Web users....
I did end up with one click yesterday, which was a bit of a reassurance. At least my clicks are worth a lot more than they used to be since I removed the ads from my poor-performing pages (which are also my highest traffic pages, so that does in part explain the lack of clicks.)
What can I say, I panicked. Thanks again for all your responses, and in future I will TRY to refrain from cluttering this forum with pointless newbie questions. ;-)
