What exactly constitutes a click? I thought I might have clicked accidentally on one of my own ads just now -- the browswer window kinda joggled while I was trying to click one of my own links. I IMMEDIATELY hit the "STOP" button. For once I'm thankful I'm on dial-up, and the browser didn't go anywhere. Also if I did click, it was most likely on the "Ads by Google" link at the top. Is it still a click that I should report? I hate to bother Google with it unnecessarily, expecially since I reported my first accidental click about 10 days ago, while I was right-clicking the ads on that page you get when you click on the text links. (I learned my lesson and haven't done that since then--have now installed the Preview Tool.)

Agh, just got this message when trying to log into my AS account:

"Error
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and will work to resolve it."

This doesn't mean I got booted, did it? I mean, if I did click accidentally, it only happened within the last hour.

Here I am talking to myself again. S'okay, I now realize it's a scheduled maintenance. ;-)

I love that!

I just got into my account and noticed that my click DID register. I wasn't paid for it. Do I still need to 'fess up?

speaking of scared clickless. What will Google do when there are so many people with websites and google ads and they are all afraid to click?

No clicks-no money-no publishers---sheesh

fess up miki99 as quick as you can, get on your knees and repent..
Don't panic, it will pass, unless you do it again, the be afraid, be very afraid.

I have no idea ann who those people are that click on ads, I can't even imagine what their mindset is, and can't remember if or when I ever clicked on an ad in my life, I think my mind is going into denial mode.

Well, I just sent AS a totally groveling email, to be on the safe side. Second mis-click in a week, sheesh. The only two I've ever had. Been working on my site a lot, though.

Well, I did do it again, second time in a week, as I said. :-(

Seriously, will they boot me?

stop emailing Google, sorry if my post sounded like suggesting that, they have hundeds of thouthands of publishers and a system to discount such clicks, just get a grip seriously and break off that left mouse button or thumb if it happens again (KIDDING!)

"Getting a grip" -- not one of my strong points.

Well OK then, don't scare me like that. ;-) It's not as if I'm making anything lately anway, but you know, it's nice to know the possibility exists.

LOL, really, not a problem. I'd already decided anyway that if I got booted, it was a message from the Universe that I'm supposed to go out into the world and get a life or something. ;-)
