Niche Seasonality Now Visible

I don't know if Google Trends is old hat already, I just noticed it on their home page:

It looks like it may offer a way for publishers in niche subjects to see how searches on the niche are running over time, rather than only having their own site stats for reference. If nothing else, it's great fun:-)
