Populating Link Units

Only One Link Shows Whatever We Do

We have adsense on one of our sites and would like to display a link unit. However, whenever we have tried to do this, it is populated with just a single link, rather than 4 or 5.

At first we thought that there might be a time delay before other links kicked in, but alas, it appears not. We left it in place for more than a week and it made no difference.

I also note that other sites on similar topics do NOT suffer from this problem, so it isn't that there are insufficient ads available.

Is there a reason for this?

Is there a way around it?

I think it takes time for the algo to study your page, it has only come up with one subject so far.

3 days has been my observation on algo updating.

It COULD be that, as it is a popular site, but just having one small ad in there does not suit the layout (to the point where I will drop Adsense if I can't sort this out).

It's definitely not the 3 day thing, because we had it in place for a week and there was no change.
