Confused about stats

Adsense stats says my traffic is down, it's not

Can you help me think of reasons why according to my Adsense stats, my traffic is down by about 20-25%, but according to my own stats programs(running 3 different ones including awstats) my traffic is healthy and not down at all? Looking at the same pages and seeing 2 different things.

The only thing I can think of is that, for some reason, the ads are not displaying to all users. Perhaps 20-25% of my visitors have all switched to computers that doesn't support the ads? Seems far fetched, but the only explanation I can think of. Can you think of a better reason why this might happen?

I think there's something going on on Google's end regarding stats. I'm seeing atypical reporting behavior from Google - especially the last few days.

I see a problem too. I think there is a delay in the stats and if you check it in 24 hrs, it may catch up.

There might be something in those suggestions--check yesterday's stats against your stats.

Another idea might be that some ads are "broken." Some HTML programs, when you open a page to work on something else and then save it, may make changes to the AdSense code. Nothing consequential, but adding or removing a white space can make the ads stop working (probably a deliberate move on Google's part, to guard against messing withe the code.) So you might want to check to make sure that ads are displaying properly on all of your pages.

Don't forget Adsense stats will not count hits from bots, hits from your account ip block.

These hits may be making up the difference between your server stats and your Adsense ones.
