PSA replaced by top-earners?

Looking at the adsense on pages on my sites where the ads don't match the content I have noticed that they are no-longer on PSA one's but ads that relate to gadgets that I do well with on another site.

Without having click stats can I assume that Google has replaced PSA with ads they compute to be the best earners or is that just for pages that have not yet been crawled by the bot?

I have seen something similar, but I have guessed that it had to do with my alternative ads since this is the only site using this particular AdSense account.

When I look at a page that is just added, it has ads that are remotely (very remotely) linked to the site's theme, but that could be linked to some of my alternative ads.

After a short time the usual set of AdSense ads, or the alternative ads appear instead. (Yup, sadly, it's pretty much the same set all over the site with about 1000 pages, since all pages circle around the very same subject.)

hmm I noticed that this morning on my site, I don't like it! I am getting a lot of tech ads where my alt ads would normally show up, of which is totally not related to my site, and I really doubt anyone would click on these things from my site, I would rather my alt ads as they are at least related to my content.

hmm wonder how long they plan to keep this up? I don't have to have to add all of those to my block list!

I am getting those too - I see same irrelevant ad in different pages of my site.

It even shows up when I look at a brand new post in my forum - in the past, this always brought a default ad.
