Hello everyone,

I have bought a domain and have been working on it for a few months now. I won't name it because it is against the TOS, but if you feel it is necessary to properly respond to me question, feel free to sticky-mail me.

I am opening a Text-File site. It has a very basic layout, and is very fast loading. It is basically a research site with everything from Automotives to Zoology.

I am going to apply for Adsense within the next few days after all links are fixed and I add some of the information. It still is although under major construction.

My question is, since this is a text-file site, and I will have over 100,000 pages of information, with all different keywords on it, am I limited to the amout of Adsense banners I can place?

I looked around on the Adsense FAQ and did not see anything written about this.

<snip>

Thanks for all of the help in advance.

The Adsense ToS states that you cannot put Adsense ads on sites that are merely built in order to serve Adsense ads.

It's up to you (and Google) to interpret this clause.

Also the Adsense code needs to be inserted into an HTML page. A text page would mean that people's browser would not be parsing the Adsense javascript. It's technically impossible to have an Adsense ad on a text page.

My site isn't built solely for Adsense, I have built it for a research center.

I am quite new to webpages and have only been at it for like 5 months now. I am a little confused about what you mean by text/HTML page?

Whenever I create an index.htm I fill out the normal HTML for the layout and choose Text. HTML is also an option. Does this matter that I have not chosen HTML for the javascript in Adsense?

I'm pretty new, and was not aware that this is a problem.

If your page extensions end in htm or html, it should be fine. When it appears on the web, does it appear with formatting (such as different font sizes, different fonts, with images, etc)? If so, this is likely proper html formatting. A true text-only page would be what something looks like when you open it up in NotePad.

Thanks for the clarification, and yes, my pages do have multiple fonts and images and such.

Thank-you everyone for all of the useful input. I greatly admire all of you and hope to learn as much as I can here.
