Some people who have made edits to a page even copyright their material to prevent future editing. Plus, the CTR and EPC for wikipedia is low.
I'm not sure about using adsense on other wikis, I just searched the site for old topics on this. Did you do search first? If you need more information just look for it, your answer is somewhere in a past topic. ;)
Simply as a CMS, it seems worthwhile, as the software is very easy to use and not bloated like joomla. I take it from the sour responses nobody here is using a wiki-style informational site with their adsense.
Nitrous can you elaborate? I think any niche (mine is eastern europe) can be made far more in-depth by adding wiki functionality. This way evergreens can be updated as time passes by engaged visitors, and built in RSS support can provide a news section that lures in one timers for a second look.
