Is there anyway possible to put adsense content related ads on a password protected forum?

If not, what are the adsense options?

Why wouldn't you be able to? Just copy and paste the code like you would on any other page...

If so, would google be able to serve content base ads on the pages behind the password? I figured they would need to spider the page to know what ads to serve that were a good fit for the content.

Google won't be able to spider the page, but they may show themed ads based on the content of the whole site.

For adsense alternatives, just look in the Advertising Sales and Affiliate Programs forum:

Unfortunately themes inside the forums could be very different then the the theme of the non-passworded website. I am investigating if there are any tricks to give google an idea of the individual passworded content so targeted ads could be automatically served yet keep everyone else without a password out.

I know the other advertising options out there, I am just looking if there was a way I could use adsense effectively on this site.

With thousands of unique topic forums there is a intriguing opportunity to place gmail like ads within the forums.

It won't work very well unless both Google and the mediabot can crawl the same pages.

You may need to allow Google complete access to your site by the ranges of Google IP addresses to let it bypass the login.

Otherwise, you'll get generic or PSA ads.

Have a keyword in the /folder/ url helps.

incrediBILL, is it possible to do what you say but keep the pages out of the google index. So Google knows the content for targeted ad serving but the forum pages will not show up in any serps..

You can keep the CACHE out of the index, only snippets, but no, if you want to use AdSense I'm pretty sure it has to be indexed to get the best ads.

I think you can just allow the mediabot to index those pages with a robots.txt file.

Check the adsense help pages for more info.
