Who here is running adsense with Analytics? would make some interesting reading if earnings increased/decreased/remained same and how is Analytics?
Right now it's being hammered, so they have restricted new accounts, but they are working on it.
Here's my take - on very niche sites, it's not that necessary. If you know where the majority of your traffic is coming from and you don't have a massive range of content, and you know which content is being hit the most (perhaps through AS channels), then it may not be worth it to study such detailed information, especially from a financial point of view. I'm talking well under 500 visitors a day, where you are perhaps the sole authority, or one of two or three sites in that niche.
On large sites, with a large amount of traffic and a large amount of content, it's incredibly useful, because on those types of sites you can use Analytics to track daily/hourly/weekly trends, you can tailor pages/content to some of your inbound stats, and you can see why people are finding your site and even perhaps cater to their needs.
If you notice most of your visitors come at around 8am-9am, then you can make sure new content is posted before then. If you notice most of your visitors arrive at your site because of certain keywords, you can work on more content that is tailored to their interests.
As well, you can check referral sites daily, and immediately respond if a site starts sending you traffic (i.e. you can link back to them or email the other site's manager and thank them).
I also use Analytics to prioritize.
If I had a website about Ford automobiles, and I noticed that pages about Mustangs are drawing more visitors than pages about Tauruses or the Focus, then in the future when I have three articles or news items to write about that cover all three of those, I'm going to know to focus on the Mustang content first, as well as give it a lot more emphasis.
