Hi, i would like to say Hi to everyone here at WW. I have been reading this site for a few days now and i have decided to get started with ADsense and Affiliate programs.

I would just like to ask the experienced people that have been doing this for awhile a few questions. Right now i have all the time in the world! I have been layed off work but getting money from a partnership business to pay for expenses. I would like to get a few peoples ideas to get me started and point me in the right direction.

I have experience building websites and i also have alot of knowledge of several different subjects. I have a computer science degree, previous construction business owner, ebay business owner, real estate investor, and a few other things.

I would liek to ask for anyones opionion on where i should get started and where i can find something to read about getting started with Adsense. Any information for a begginer is welcome.

I would like to see how Adsense works and evaluate where Im at in 3 months from now.

I would like to learn as much as possible as soon as possible. I dont usually sleep alot and am a workaholic. I can do this probably about 16-20 hours a day. So if i can get some advise, that would be great!

I am thinking about writing 3-5 websites. What do you all think the potential earnings could be? I know it really depends on alot of things, but i would like some comments from someone who has 3-5 websites.

Thanks everyone and im looking forward to getting to know you!

Welcome Dr J!
(boy, i can remember just a few months ago when it was ME being welcomed)

Others will tell you, build your sites for your readers (not for adsense).. if you do that, then your Adsense will naturally do well.

As far as subjects - i would stay away from anything computer related, as it's pretty much saturated. I think the other topics you mentioned could all do very well.

I'm not sure about getting good results in only 3 months. When I got started a few months ago, i didn't plan on making any money for 12-14 months. It's been 2 months now, and i'm making far more than i planned, but not quite enough to pay for my lunch every day - so, i would re-evaluate my timeframe..

now lets see what the people that actually know what they're talking about have to say..

Welcome Dr J!
I will second what wariental said. Don't worry about adsense at this point, work on writing good articles and getting traffic. You will work for free for the first year, if you ask me. Unless ofcourse, you're real good or lucky.

I would start 3 sites now and see which one takes off first.

Thanks for the welcome!

I have already started writing one site. I have read alot and understand that in order to be successfull you have to write what you know most about. Thats what i planning on doing.

You guys didnt give me any numbers. I would like to see some numbers.

How much a day?

How many site?

How many hours spent per day approx. for the first 3 months?

Thanks for the info.

i would just start with the one site.
targeting your ads alone involves a lot of rewriting. you can't really just write the page and leave it. not if you want to make money. it involves a lot of trial and error - placement, size and colour of the ads for example, and what you include in the text as well, keywords, headings, link text, image filenames, alt text...

and optimizating your pages for search engines is even more time consuming, because you have to sort out your inbound/outbound links and all that stuff.

the more sites you have in the short term, the more work you will be making for yourself.

i would give it a year-or-so on one site until you know what works and what doesn't, and then branch out after that.

Hi Dr.John

well, me not too experienced as well, but enoug to know what will take me to the numbers some people make here.

At start, I felt what some people keep saying over and pver again here, about making a site you are passionate about as crap. How will that make Adsense fruitful..

But, trust me, after six months into it, I can see the truth in that. Because, only topics you personally like will see you getting more content into it. More content means more inter-liking, which will get you a higher SE ranking, which means more visitors and which finally means more Adsense income. Simply putting Mesothelioma ads will not make money.

And, if you were looking for me to answer about where to learn about ad placement and stuff, let me tell you that learn it yourself. That is more fun and rewarding. Just trying out another's success story would not probably help.

There are too many variables to answer these questions.

Just jump in and work hard but also work wisely. Join the supporters forum here and spend time on WWW including all the forums, not just adsense. Learn to discern the informative posts from the chatter.

A workaholic with the knowledge you possess should be making several thousand withing a few months.

I suggest you start with a blog and a static website and go to town. I think "Real Estate Investing" is a very good choice for your website. Add static content and one blog post per day.

Thats something that i was looking to acomplish!

Some of you said that i should start on 1 site and work on it for a year? I think if i write on 1 site for a year, there will be over a thousand pages! I need something more challenging to do!

But iv been doing alot of researching and have come up with several different strategies that i can use to make multiple streams of income.

I have set a goal for myself to have the website running in a week. With 20 pages of content. Then i'll add Adsense and submit to SEs, then ill have time to write more content.

If you're a beginner, then take advantage of the various forum libraries. You'll need to hang out in the link dev [webmasterworld.com] forum and in search engine promotion [webmasterworld.com].

Promoting a website can be difficult, especially if you're new to this. Give yourself a year to learn and apply what you learn.

Do visit the search engine promotion forum, as you'll need to know that, and questions about promoting a site aren't appropriate for the adsense forum.

Good luck.

1000 pages is still a small website. I consider my 30,000 pages small. If you want something challenging then create a great site. The challenge is not creating the site (that's the easy part). The challenge is creating a successful and useful site with high traffic. I just reached 100,000 visitors weekly and earn well over 00,000 per month.

You said that you reached 100,000 weekly and make how much a $ month?

how long did it take you to build this site?

Do you manage your site alone?

I didnt write the title. Someone changed it!
I know that this is the site to learn! Thats why im hear and reading none stop!

Well I started writing for my site and have been writing for about 2 days now, none stop! So far it has been easy to write but i dont know how someone can write 30,000 pages! Right now I have about 25 pages of content on just one topic.

How many topics/pages should i have before i publish the site?

Start publishing now. As soon as you have a completed article or piece, section, etc. Get it up there. If for nothing else than to have it get indexed, age and possibly collect links.
