Right now what google is doing is displaying ads which is no way related to the sub of my blog! Sounds confusing .. right? Yep its true .. I have a football blog and it shows ads like :
1. Free blog counters
2. TGP scripts
So if I can make google display ads on tech news (read football) the problem will be solved.

As for the user saying whats the point in displaying untargeted ads... How about if you run a site in the 16-24 age bracket, perhaps a social networking site? Lot better to show ads for ipods, music and free stuff than whatever the algorithm decides is best? Not the best example I know, but showing untargeted content ads to an audience not interested in the actual content is often better.

I have noticed Adsense do that when it is not reading any variables at the end of a dynamic looking URL.
Can you make your urls use the post title instead, for the filename?
Also, do you use the special code to make Adsense ignore menus and off topic stuff? Getting Google to display the types of ad you want is usually possible. I get it to ignore my entire template, for starters, and any high paying keywords that are nevertheless irrelevant to the page.
Then I make sure it pays extra special attention to the title and first paragraph. I think what will the people looking for this page feel like buying when they've read it? Then I make sure some words related to those kinds of subjects are in the page.
